History

COGEA was founded in 1979 thanks to the commitment of four founding partners, experts in business organization, auditing, and management consulting.

Over the years, it has specialized in providing high-quality consultancy services to public administrations, focusing on programming, technical assistance, monitoring, ex-ante/in-itinere/ex-post evaluation, and financial control of European Structural and Investment Funds (ESF, ERDF, and EAFRD) as well as complementary national funds. More recently, its expertise has expanded to include the National Recovery and Resilience Plan.

At the international level, since 1999, COGEA has been an independent evaluator for the European Union, having conducted over 30 evaluations of EU agricultural policies on both European and international scales.

In the past ten years, it has developed analyses and studies for the European Commission’s DG MARE in the field of the Blue Economy.

COGEA provides Public Administrations with tailored solutions and tools to manage the complex lifecycle of EU programs—including programming, implementation, support in interactions with European and national governance and control bodies, monitoring and strategic reprogramming, financial control, and final accounting closure. This is made possible by an in-house team and a network of highly skilled, multidisciplinary experts with specific expertise in designing methodologies and processes for public policy programming and implementation, capacity building, and administrative efficiency.

In 2022, COGEA Srl was acquired by Business Integration Partners (Bip), an Italian strategic consulting firm controlled by the CVC Capital Partners Fund VIII.
